With the release of Ms.Marvel, which premiered June 8th, 2022, and the final season 2 episodes of The Owl House coming June 28th, 2022, Disney has been consistently adding high-ranking new content for subscribers. But of all the animated TV series on Disney+, some are definitely more popular than others.

Ranker is a hub for fans to rank their favorite TV shows, movies, and more, but this time fans ranked the best-animated series available on Disney+. This makes it easy to pick from the growing list of shows based on nostalgia, entertainment value, and popularity.

10 Duck Tales (1987)

Based on the Carl Barks comics, Duck Tales follows Scrooge McDuck and his three grandnephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Throughout the series, the viewer is taken on their many adventures battling villains, discovering treasure, and more. Filled with comedy and adventure, Duck Tales takes viewers on their journeys worldwide.

This 1987 version of Duck Tales is a classic that is loved by many Disney fans. It remains popular despite its age and even has an updated spin-off of the show the 2017 version of Duck Tales. Duck Tales is reminiscent of a classic cartoon with straight-to-the-point humor and wild antics. It’s a feel-good show that is always a good option for light-hearted entertainment.

9 American Dragon: Jake Long

This series takes place in Manhattan, New York, and follows Jake Long, a young Chinese-American teen. Unlike regular teenagers, Jake has the unique ability to turn into a dragon. While juggling school and dragon duties, Jake learns to protect fellow magical creatures throughout the city and his family.

This series is a coming-of-age story featuring magical creatures, adventure, romance, and more as the viewer gets an inside look at Jake’s life.  American Dragon is a show that taps the nostalgia button because it aired from 2005-to 2007. While a good option for nostalgia, it’s also an entertaining animation overall. The characters in the series are quirky and fun and its storyline makes it a great show to enjoy.

Disney+ has a variety of spin-off shows, but not all are hits when it comes to storyline and quality. Monsters at Work quickly became popular because it continues the comedy of Monster Inc. while introducing new characters and adding to the storyline many people already know and love. It’s a great show for kids and adults alike and answers the question of what happened after scaring was discontinued.

7 Star Wars: The Clone Wars

This story is filled with action, and adventure and follows a series of battles as the plot unfolds. Star Wars: The Clone Wars is one of many series that make up the Star Wars universe, so people who follow Star Wars tend to gravitate toward this show. This series continues storylines for loved characters and introduces new ones for fans new and old to enjoy.

6 Kim Possible

Not many shows answer the question of what fighting crime and being a cheer caption at once would look like, but Kim Possible does. This series follows high schooler Kim as she juggles life as a crime fighter, and teenager all at once. Kim and her best friend/future love interest Ron team up to fight crime together all over the globe. Filled with villains, and teenage drama, Kim Possible is an action-packed series that’s entertaining and heartwarming.

Similar to American Dragon, Kim Possible also aired in the early 2000s. Many viewers watch it for the nostalgia the show brings, but new viewers watch it for entertainment. A movie adaptation of Kim Possible was released in 2019, which likely led people back to the original animated series on Disney+.

5 Phineas And Ferb

This series follows Phineas and his step-brother Ferb through their 104 days of summer vacation. Phineas, Ferb, and their friends embark on a new adventure every day as they come up with ideas, inventions, and fun to keep them entertained all summer. Phineas and Ferb is full of meta moments and more as a comedy-musical series. The kids do everything possible to make the most of their summer.

Not every show features a musical number with each episode, but this series is filled with catchy songs that are hard to forget. It aired from 2007-to 2015 and was very popular during that time and till today. The storyline is interesting for viewers because it features unique humor that can appeal to any age.

It’s also the comeback of Disney actress Brenda Song who is known for doing a lot of work with Disney from 2002-to 2007. 2 The Owl House

The Owl House follows Luz, a teenage girl who has just discovered a portal to another realm. The twist is that humans aren’t top of the food chain in this realm. Luz quickly befriends a witch Eda, and her sidekick demon, King, and begins her journey of learning how to become a witch herself.

As a fantasy, mixed with comedy, this series did not disappoint fans and was already renewed for a second season that follows Luz as she finds her way home. The Owl House does an excellent job of mixing horror with comedy keeping viewers of any age entertained. Its unique plot and LGBTQ+ representation make it stand out amongst animated series leading to its current popularity.

Dipper is convinced something is off about the town and makes it his mission to uncover the town’s secrets. With this series, there is action, mystery, and comedy all in one.

Gravity Falls features a good mix of comedy and mysteries that keeps viewers entertained. There are puzzles within each episode, that deepen the plot further than the storyline itself. Its detailed plot and animation make it easy to enjoy this coming-of-age story.
