Aglaia Raid in FFXIV 6.1

Aglaia Raid in FFXIV 6.1

One of the biggest pieces of new content packed into to Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.1 is the first leg of the Myths of the Realm 24-player alliance raid. This portion of the raid series is titled Aglaia and it’s going to be our first look at how Myths of the Realm will explore the mythos behind the twelve gods of FFXIV, commonly referred to as The Twelve. If you’ve finished Endwalker and are eager to jump into this wild raid, there are some things you’ll need to do in order to access it. Here’s how to unlock Myths of the Realm: Aglaia in FFXIV Patch 6.1.

Based on the 6.1 patch notes, we know that the Myths of the Realm: Aglaia starting quest is located in Old Sharlayan given by an NPC named Fresh-faced Student (located at X: 9.1, Y: 11.5). This quest is called “A Mission in Mor Dhona.” It’s a fitting name because it takes us back to Mor Dhona to link up with some old friends like Rammbroes near the Crystal Tower. It’s a familiar place, especially since the Aglaia raid story also involves G’raha Tia, who was our precious catboy all those years ago during A Realm Reborn‘s Crystal Tower alliance raid series.

However, you should be aware that there is a requirement to finish a certain quest in 6.1 MSQ. As of now, all we know is the fact that we need to progress through the new 6.1 quests in MSQ, as indicated in the official patch notes. The patch notes do not specify what quest this is, though. We’ll update this as soon as we find out when Patch 6.1 goes live. But just be aware that you won’t be able to immediately jump into the Aglaia alliance raid without doing MSQ.

Ahh yes, just like old times.

To participate in the Aglaia alliance raid, not only do you need complete the quest “A Mission in Mor Dhona” and the unnamed quest in 6.1 MSQ, but you must have an average item level of 565 or higher. If you need to gear up to reach this average ilvl, be sure to use our FFXIV endgame gear guide. In short, the easiest way to get up to average ilvl 565 is by either earning Tomestones of Aphorism and Astronomy for Moonward (ilvl 570) and Radiant’s (ilvl 580) gear pieces or buying Classical (ilvl 580) gear pieces from the market board.

Like any other alliance raid, it consists of three parties (or alliances in this case) consisting of one tank, two healers, and five DPS players. You can form parties through matchmaking in the Duty Finder or by using Party Finder if you want to join a specific group once you unlock the Aglaia raid.

We have a summary of everything we know so far about what’s going on in Myths of the Realm based on the FFXIV 6.1. trailer and previous Live Letter. We’ll be running the raid as soon as we can and putting together a Myths of the Realm: Aglaia raid guide. If you plan on going into without guides, good luck.

In the meantime, be sure to catch up on all the FFXIV Patch 6.1 Job changes — there are a lot of tweaks depending on which Job you play. It’d be wise to adjust to the changes before jumping into a new alliance raid. For all the other new content, check out our FFXIV Patch 6.1 summary and breakdown.
