Apex Legends Heirloom Guide – How to Get Crypto’s Heirloom

We’re almost halfway through Apex Legends‘ latest season, which means it’s time for another cosmetic-focused Collection Event. Dubbed “Warriors,” this event dresses the characters up in a mix of post-apocalyptic garb and outfits you’d expect to see in a Roman colosseum. But none of that really matters because my main, Crypto, is finally getting his heirloom. (I’m so proud of him.) Called the Biwon Blade, this sword was actually leaked months ago, but no one knew until recently when this heirloom would be released. Thankfully, the other 50 Crypto mains and I can get our hands on this sword when the event launches on March 29.

(Author’s Note: At the time of writing, this Warrior’s event has not gone live. However, the method for obtaining an heirloom has changed since they’ve been introduced, and it’s extremely unlikely that Respawn will alter how you acquire them.)

How to Get Crypto’s Heirloom

Unfortunately, there are still only a couple of methods for earning heirlooms in Apex Legends. The first is during the Warriors Collection Event, which requires you to purchase every cosmetic item in the event tab via the Warriors Event Packs. Each pack guarantees you only one cosmetic from the event; however, you will never receive a duplicate. There’s also a higher chance to receive base legendary tier items. This means you will need to purchase a total of 24 event loot boxes to unlock his heirloom. You can only buy Event Packs in either groups of 10 for 7,000 Apex Coins or individually for 700 Apex Coins each.

Breaking down the numbers, you would need to purchase $160 in Apex Coins just to have enough to buy all of the Event Packs. This assumes you bought two sets of ten and then the last four by themselves for 700 Coins each. You can reduce this price a little by purchasing the bundles in the Warriors event store, but it won’t save you much. Typically, the store is mainly for those who only want to buy specific, popular legend skins rather than the entire suite. If you don’t want to buy all of these loot boxes, then you’re going to have to go with the second option, which is to open up Apex Packs until you earn Heirloom Shards.

While Heirloom Shards are guaranteed after 500 Apex Packs, you also have a very small chance for this exceptionally rare currency to drop before hitting that 500 Apex Pack threshold. If you do have Heirloom Shards, you’ll need to wait until the Warriors Collection Event is over to purchase this sword. Then just navigate to the Mythics tab in the Store page and select the Biwon Blade to purchase it. Once you buy the heirloom, you just need to go to Crypto and equip it by checking the box in the bottom right corner.

Remember that heirlooms give you no mechanical or gameplay advantage. These are strictly cosmetic items for players who want to add some flashiness to their legend of choice. Along with the Crypto heirloom and new cosmetics, the wildly popular Control mode makes its return. This mode will boast a new map that’s just the Caustic Treatment point of interest from King’s Canyon. Arena players will also be getting a new map called Drop-off, which is set in a Hammond Robotics facility above the city of Malta.

The Apex Legends Warriors Collection Event launches on March 29 for all systems.
