RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs. The World star Baga Chipz has taken to social media to reveal that she’s been suffering in an abusive relationship with a former partner for 18 months. In 2019, Baga was introduced to the Drag Race world as a 29-year-old drag performer from East London, England. Of note, Baga was featured on shows such as X Factor: Celebrity, Roast Battle UK, Celebrity MasterChef, and The Celebrity Circle, to name a few. On Wednesday, March 2, Baga Chipz took to Twitter to share the heartbreaking story that she’s been in an abusive relationship with a former partner that has already lasted over 18 months. As seen in the tweets below, Baga wrote: “Was abused for 18 months mentally and physically and the bastard still won’t let me be free. This person abused my family and Drag Race sisters.” Baga accused this person of also using her financially and claimed to have broken up their relationship nearly a year ago. “Leave me alone!” Baga exclaimed. The queen then remarked on the mental abuse she has had to endure over time.

Was abused for 18 months mentally and physically and the bastard still won’t let me be free. This person abused my family and drag race sisters. I was your meal ticket and you fucked up by being an ubuser. It’s been nearly a year! LEAVE ME ALONE!

We really do live in a cruel world. To make me live those 18 months all over again is horrendous. Im literally in the bathroom being sick. I could take the beatings but the mental torture and abuse of my family will scar me forever. Worthlessness is horrid.

In her subsequent tweets, the Drag Race UK vs. The World finalist revealed that she felt embarrassed and ashamed about the situation and the fact that she let anyone treat her so badly. “It can happen to anyone!” Baga warned. Furthermore, Baga remarked on the professional consequences she’s faced from being in this relationship given that she is now a high-profile reality TV star. “You can leave a person and they can still have control over you” Baga explained, “from having your runways leaked to making up lies because you are on the telly.” With that said, the queen feels like “a massive weight has been lifted being able to tell the world I was a victim of abuse.”

I was so embarrassed and so ashamed. To let someone do that to me and treat me that way. Believe me. It can happen to anyone! I’m just broken.

You can leave a person and they can still have control over you. From having your runways leaked to making up lies because you are on the telly. I feel like a massive weight as been lifted being able to tell the world I was a victim of abuse. I never thought I would be a victim.

Thankfully, it seems like Baga Chipz is in a better place now – particularly after speaking out against this person. The Drag Race UK vs. The World star wants to tell her truth and inspire her fans to leave abusive relationships like the one she had to endure. One can hope that this individual will leave Baga alone for good now that their story is out in the public.
