Blood Orange Bishaten Fight Guide

Blood Orange Bishaten Fight Guide

The Blood Orange Bishaten, a new species in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak can be challenging to defeat. Here’s how players can fight against the beast

The Blood Orange Bishaten in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is a Fanged Beast, a new subspecies of Bishaten; the main difference is its coloring, which favors warmer tones over the traditional blue and white, and its tendency to breathe fire. Players will encounter the Blood Orange Bishaten in the Shrine Ruins and the Elgado Citadel, along with beasts like Monster Hunter Rise’s Elder Dragon, Malzeno.

The Blood Orange Bishaten’s design is based on the Daitengu of Japanese mythology, a creature with a mixture of monkey, bird, and human characteristics. In Monster Hunter Rise, the Blood Orange Bishaten showcases monkey and avian characteristics with attacks like its Explosive Tail Slam, as well as its reliance on pinecones that it flings at players from a distance. In addition, as its coloring suggests, the Blood Orange Bishaten uses fire attacks and can inflict Fireblight on players, which slowly reduces health over time. Blight attacks can damage players, but new to Monster Hunter Rise is the ability to use Blights against the monsters as well.

As players face off against this new variant of Monster Hunter’s Bishaten, they should be prepared to cure themselves of Fireblight, master dodging maneuvers, and use Wirefall to reposition when knocked over. Blood Orange Bishaten balances itself on its tail while spewing a barrage of fiery pinecones at players, so dodging maneuvers will come in handy to kill the beast.

Tips & Strategies To Defeat Blood Orange Bishaten In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Blood Orange Bishaten Pinecones

Since Monster Hunter Rise’s Blood Orange Bishaten uses fire attacks and can inflict Fireblight, players should be prepared with Nulberrys to cure the Blight. However, Fireblight will reduce players’ health, and with Blood Orange Bishaten constantly throwing fiery pinecones, players should take care not to get Fireblight. Another way to cure Fireblight is to perform constant evades, so prepare to dodge and dive throughout the battle or risk losing health rapidly in Monster Hunter Rise.

Another way to dodge that will help players in many fights throughout Monster Hunter Rise is Wirefall. Wirefalling makes use of the Wirebug, a new combat mechanic that allows players to use the insect to dash around the world and climb to new heights. While Wirebug is fun for exploring, it can be used to Wirefall during battle. Wirefalling allows players to quickly recover once tossed around and helps the player evade oncoming attacks. To use Wirefall on the Switch, press ZL and B after a monster tosses the character to execute the move. For PC, press the middle scroll button on the mouse and space bar to execute a Wirefall. If players do not have a mouse with a scroll wheel, they can remap the controls on Monster Hunter Rise’s PC port. Once players master the Wirebug and use Wirefall during combat, Blood Orange Bishaten will be a much easier boss.

In addition to mastering Wirebug controls, players should become familiar with dodging techniques in Monster Hunter Rise. Dodging will help players rid themselves of Fireblight, but it will consume stamina. Being able to manage stamina levels while avoiding Blood Orange Bishaten’s attacks requires some work, but mastering this skill is essential to surviving the various beasts’ players can encounter in Monster Hunter Rise. To dodge on the Switch, press B and move the left joystick in the desired direction. Players can also execute a dive by sprinting first, then using B. For the PC, players can dodge using the space bar, and to sprint, hold down shift. Once mastered, players can use dodging maneuvers to successfully hunt many of Monster Hunter Rise’s beasts.
