EA Motive has announced the Dead Space remake is set to launch in early 2023.
The news came from a livestream focusing on the game’s audio overhaul, in which the developers said they have a date in mind for 2023. Should everything come together, the team will stick with that one and announce it at a later date.
“We want to make sure that we’re in a place where the game we’re gonna deliver is gonna be delivering on the expectations of fans. And that’s what’s most important” Senior Producer Phillipe Ducharme said on stream. “So right now, we’ll say early next year. We have a date in mind and we want to make sure that everything converges for this. We’re actually just a couple weeks away from being able to do our first full walkthrough of the game. We’re still pre-alpha. But we believe that we’re gonna be in a solid position to be able to do a proper polish; a proper debug to meet the date we have in mind.”

The Dead Space remake was officially unveiled at last year’s EA Play event after reports of such a project surfaced about a month prior. The series has been dormant for nearly a decade, with Dead Space 3 launching in 2013. This was the last entry in the series prior to the shut down of original developer Visceral Games in 2017.
EA Motive’s revival of the survival horror series will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
