The Beats Fit Pro have it all: A comfortable design, premium audio, active noise cancellation, and more. But do they have wireless charging?
The Beats Fit Pro are some of the most well-rounded earbuds on the market, but does their extensive feature-set include wireless charging? Since being purchased by Apple in 2014, the Beats brand has continued to churn out top-notch audio gear. The Beats Flex are great workout earbuds, the Studio Buds are a cheaper alternative to AirPods, and the Solo 3 Wireless are a modern envisioning of classic Beats headphones.
On November 1, 2021, the Beats Fit Pro debuted as one of the most compelling Beats products since the Apple ownership. Why? In almost every single regard, the Fit Pro impress. They’re designed to be comfortable and secure during workouts, are protected by an IPX4 rating, deliver AirPods Pro-quality audio, have active noise canceling, and get longer battery life than their Apple-branded cousin. Coming in at $199, the Beats Fit Pro somehow manage to deliver all of these things while still being a good value.

As with any product, however, the Beats Fit Pro are not perfect. While the earbuds get almost everything right, there’s one key feature they’re missing: wireless charging. Wireless charging is an expected feature for high-end (and mid-range) wireless earbuds these days, but for whatever reason, it’s completely absent on the Beats Fit Pro. No matter where you purchase the earbuds or which color you get, the Fit Pro do not have wireless charging.
Beats Fit Pro Rely On USB-C Charging
When it does come time to charge the Beats Fit Pro, users will need to use the USB-C port on the back of the case. To Beats’ credit, having USB-C is a lot more convenient than the Lightning port found on AirPods. It’s more universal, is likely the same port on many of your other devices, and allows for fast charging times. We’d certainly prefer if that USB-C port was joined by a wireless charging coil, but alas, that’s not the case here.
The other upside to all of this is that the Beats Fit Pro won’t find themselves plugged into the charger very often. The earbuds themselves are rated to last for up to 6 hours of continuous listening time with ANC turned on. The charging case provides an additional 18 hours of endurance, resulting in 24 hours of combined use before you need to grab your charging cable. While it’s not the most ideal scenario for someone who was really hoping for wireless charging, strong battery performance and USB-C should help the earbuds sting a little less.
Other Wireless Earbuds With Wireless Charging
That’s all great news if you can live without wireless charging. But what if wireless charging is a must-have feature for you? In that case, you’ll need to consider other earbud options beyond the Beats Fit Pro. For many people, the best alternative will be AirPods Pro. AirPods Pro have similarly great noise canceling, audio quality, and tight integration with other Apple devices. The $249 price tag isn’t as ideal, but if wireless charging is a must, AirPods Pro remain an excellent option. If you don’t care about active noise cancellation, AirPods 3 give you wireless charging for just $179.
And those are just options from Apple. There are countless other earbuds with wireless charging support — including the Sony WF-1000XM4, Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, Jabra Elite 85T, OnePlus Buds Pro, and others. The Beats Fit Pro are outstanding earbuds, but if wireless charging is a must, you have plenty of alternatives to choose from.
