Doctor Strange 2 Gets Mystical Popcorn Buckets At AMC Theaters

AMC Theatres will offer popcorn vessels that imitate Doctor Strange’s magic box for the premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

AMC Theaters will offer popcorn vessels that imitate one of Doctor Strange’s magical items for the premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The upcoming film will release in theaters on May 6 as part of the MCU’s Phase 4. Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Strange joins forces with his cohorts as the multiverse rears its head and a new adversary emerges. Sam Raimi directs the film, returning to the superhero genre for the first time since heading 2007’s Spider-Man 3.

While Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness projects a strong box office take, movie tickets are not the only items fans will look to purchase. Merchandise and collectibles associated with the film are also poised to make an impact. From themed apparel to posters and action figures, there is no shortage of Doctor Strange merchandise flying off the shelves in anticipation of Multiverse of Madness’ upcoming premiere. With all the hype surrounding the film, AMC looks to get in on the action as well, and not just by selling tickets to the show.

AMC Theatres will offer popcorn vessels shaped just like Doctor Strange’s magic box for the premiere of Multiverse of Madness. The intriguing new popcorn buckets resemble the Macchina di Kavadus, which Doctor Strange used in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It will be available at AMC Theatres while supplies last, with each vessel carrying a price tag of $24.99. Check out the image of the unique popcorn bucket from AMC below:

The Macchina di Kavadus is an ancient magical relic that the Masters of the Mystic Arts possessed. The magic box’s primary purpose is to contain and unleash spells. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Strange used the magical box to contain a corrupted spell after the secret identity of Peter Parker was released to the world. However, Parker’s ultimate intervention in Strange’s magic to prevent specific people from forgetting he was Spider-Man vitiated the spells, subsequently tearing open the multiverse. This helped pave the way for the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, though the MCU has also begun to explore the concept of the multiverse through projects like Loki and WandaVision.

While this is not the first time AMC has added an additional incentive to show up for a film premiere, it certainly makes the movie-going experience more immersive and enjoyable. Another fun collectible popcorn vessel from AMC was the Ecto-1-themed bucket for the premiere of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. While Doctor Strange 2’s hype is enough to send audiences flocking to the theater, adding a collectible element makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Audiences can catch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when it premieres on May 6.
