Elden Ring: How to Beat Flying Dragon Agheel

Elden Ring: How to Beat Flying Dragon Agheel

Elden Ring contains some frustratingly difficult boss fights. Flying Dragon Agheel is one of the toughest players will encounter in the early game.

The boss fight against the Flying Dragon Agheel is one of the biggest fights within the Limgrave region of Elden Ring. Although Flying Dragon Agheel does not have an extensive moveset, he can make quick work of players who are not prepared for his maneuvers. Players can find Flying Dragon Agheel in the Dragon-Burnt Ruins, located at the center of Lake Agheel in Limgrave. Lake Agheel is near the first Site of Grace players discover in Elden Ring, east of the Church of Elleh.

When players approach the Dragon-Burnt Ruins, Flying Dragon Agheel will descend from the sky and slam down in the middle of the lake. Players should hop on their Spectral Steed mount, Torrent, immediately when the slam occurs. While it is possible to defeat Flying Dragon Agheel on foot, it is much easier to slay the dragon while on their Elden Ring mount. Flying Dragon Agheel flies around the area often, so players will need to manage distance quickly with Torrent.

When Flying Dragon Agheel appears in Elden Ring, players must continue to move around Lake Agheel to evade him. Flying Dragon Agheel has six attacks players must contend with throughout the boss fight. The dragon’s attacks are both close-range and long-range, so players cannot outrun the boss for long. Players must learn Flying Dragon Agheel’s movement patterns to properly evade him and strike back with their own attacks.

Defeating The Flying Dragon Agheel Boss In Elden Ring

Elden Ring How To Beat Flying Dragon Agheel Boss Fight

Elden Ring’s Flying Dragon Agheel uses the following moves:

Stomp Attack: The dragon stomps one of his feet down, doing AoE damage.Bite: The dragon bites players attacking his rear or ankles.Tail Swipe: The dragon raises his right wing and does a circular tail swipe.Slam: The dragon floats in the air before slamming down on the player.Fire Breathing: The dragon breathes fire in a cone-shaped stream. This can result in a one-hit kill for the boss.Aerial Fire Breathing: The dragon flies around, spewing fire from its mouth. He will occasionally do this while moving backward as well.

No matter what character build players are using, they must constantly keep moving around the lake on Torrent. Players using a close-range melee build must chase Flying Dragon Agheel head-on to land strikes on his wings and legs. Long-range players will want to keep riding around as well, landing ranged attacks while Flying Dragon Agheel is on the ground and relatively immobile. When the dragon begins to fly, players should keep moving until he lands.

Once the dragon is on the ground, players should aim for its back legs and wings, preferably with some of the best weapons in Elden Ring’s early game. If players continue this pattern, they will only be susceptible to stomp, bite, and tail swipe attacks. Continuously moving while attacking Flying Dragon Agheel will assure players will only have a small chance of getting hit by a bite or a stomp, since they only affect the left or right side at any one time. Once players are comfortable repeating this pattern, Flying Dragon Agheel will swiftly become the latest boss they vanquish in Elden Ring.
