Euphoria Star Dominic Fike Confirms Elliot Will Return In Season 3

Euphoria Star Dominic Fike Confirms Elliot Will Return In Season 3

Dominic Fike, musician and star of Euphoria season 2, confirms in an interview that he will be returning for the third season of HBO’s hit drama.

Dominic Fike’s Elliot will return for Euphoria season 3. The new character has become somewhat of a divisive figure over the course of Euphoria season 2, acting as one-third of a love triangle between himself, Rue, and Jules. However, the future of the character is uncertain – after the end of the explosive episode 5, Eliot hasn’t played as large a role and his part in the three-way romance and Rue’s addiction has yet to be resolved.

Fike, a Florida native, initially rose to fame as a singer and rapper before turning to acting. He first received recognition on Soundcloud and for his EP Don’t Forget About Me, Demos which was released in 2017 before Fike went on to collaborate with Brockhampton and Paul McCartney. After the release of his debut album What Could Possibly Go Wrong in 2020, it was announced that Fike would be joining the Euphoria season 2 cast, his first and only acting job to date.

Now, in an interview on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Fike reveals that he will be returning for the now-confirmed Euphoria season 3. Coming at the end of the interview, Fike is quick to answer when Fallon asks if Elliot will return, affirming with a brief “Absolutely.” Fike did not elaborate further. He also lends his ear to some of the fan theories that have been circulating around Elliot but doesn’t reveal if any of his music was going to make an appearance in the upcoming finale.

Dominic Fike as Elliot on Euphoria

Euphoria season 2 is an immense success, drawing 2.4 million viewers across HBO’s platforms for its premiere, nine times the viewership that the season 1 premiere achieved in 2019. This upward trajectory has continued, with season 2 episode 6 drawing 5.1 million viewers whilst competing against the Super Bowl. The immense popularity of the program can likely be traced to decisions like including popular figures such as Fike. Part of the show’s draw among younger viewers is the way in which it both relates to and conflates real-life experiences, so including a musician such as Fike should only manage to compound that popular among the much sought-after 18-34 demographic.

Euphoria season 2 has not been without controversy and Elliot has been at the center of some of it, with plenty of viewers questioning whether it was really necessary to include a man in the Rue and Jules love story. However, this has done nothing to halt the show’s meteoric rise. What remains to be seen is if this rise will continue, but at the moment HBO’s mega-hit shows no sign of stopping and those fans that have welcomed Fike’s inclusion will be excited to see more of the tattooed mystery man in season 3.
