Garfield’s Avenger Moment Officially Released In Promo Video

Holland, Maguire & Garfield Discuss No Way Home In New BTS Video

As part of Spider-Man: No Way Home’s recent home and digital release promotions, Andrew Garfield’s Avengers moment is officially released.

Andrew Garfield’s “Avenger” moment in Spider-Man: No Way Home has officially been released via a new clip. The Tom Holland-led MCU film is nearing the end of its global theatrical run, and with that, marketing for No Way Home’s home and digital release has begun. During its time in theaters, the film proved to be a mega-hit, even dethroning James Cameron’s Avatar as the third highest grossing film of all time at the US domestic box office.

Spider-Man: No Way Home capped off the MCU’s busy 2021 Phase 4 rollout, which also marked the final chapter of Holland’s trilogy as the wall-crawler. The film also functioned as the culmination of all three eras of live-action Spider-Man, with the appearance of characters from Sam Raimi and Marc Webb’s Spider-Man movies. That included both Tobey Maguire and Garfield, who revisited their Marvel roles for the first time since ending their respective stints in 2007 and 2014. Spider-Man: No Way Home featured many surprising moments, but arguably its most highly-praised scenes were ones in which Holland, Maguire and Garfield’s Spider-Men interacted, and particularly one in which Holland’s Peter Parker mentions that he was in the Avengers. This leads to Garfield’s naive Spider-Man simply asking, “Is that a band?!” Since neither Garfield nor Maguire’s Spider-Man rubbed elbows with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, they were left confused.

Now, fans can officially re-live this hilarious Spider-Man: No Way Home scene. Since the film has now been playing in theaters since late December, the secret is out about Maguire and Garfield’s cameos, so Marvel has become more comfortable including them in promo material. A new marketing video for the movie’s home and digital release (via @SpiderMan3news), set for March 23, includes Garfield’s fan-favorite “Avengers” joke. Check out the full clip below:

In a development that surprised many fans, Garfield had many funny one-liners in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Between this “Avengers” moment, in addition to the improvised “I love you guys” line to his fellow Spider-Men, Garfield’s lovable Peter Parker has come back on many people’s radars. Given this, it’s understandable that fans have been clamoring for Sony to move forward with The Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Garfield in the lead role, or at least bring back the actor to play the web-slinger again in its budding multiverse. While Garfield claims he doesn’t have any plans to play Spider-Man again, the actor has already proved himself very good at lying to keep Marvel secrets.

There is no word yet as to whether either Garfield or Maguire will be back in the MCU to reunite with Holland’s Spider-Man in future. At this point, it’s unlikely to happen any time soon. But as Marvel Studios continues to build its multiverse, it isn’t outside the realm of possibility that the pair will make their way back to the big screen. In the meantime, however, the home and digital release of Spider-Man: No Way Home will at least allow those who are keen to re-live the Spidey reunion the chance to do so as many times as they wish.
