How To Get the Lumenstone, Ore, & Lumenspar in Genshin Impact

Not to sound dramatic, but Genshin Impact’s Lumenstone is a lifesaver when exploring The Chasm. And not just because it helps you to actually see, but because it destroys deadly purple slime things and unlocks treasure chests. What’s not to love?

However, using the Lumenstone Adjuvant mechanic in The Chasm tends to spark questions like “what do I use this for?” and “where do I get Lumenstone Ore?” To help you out, here’s everything you need to know about the Genshin Impact Lumenstone gadget.

How to Get the Lumenstone in Genshin Impact

Like many things related to The Chasm, you obtain the Lumenstone Adjuvant during The Chasm Delvers World Quest. After starting the quest, it won’t be long before you’re sent to a miner’s warehouse. The stone is lying inside.

This may be somewhat confusing, as you can’t do anything with the Lumenstone Adjuvant yet. That is because it only works underground, and you also need to charge it first. So for now, simply focus on continuing The Chasm Delvers. We explain more about the upgrading part below.

How to Use the Lumenstone Adjuvant

The Lumenstone Adjuvant is a Genshin Impact Gadget. You need to equip it in the Gadget menu and use the corresponding button (default “Z” on PC) to trigger its abilities. The Lumenstone has the following uses:

It emanates light when the Energy level is full, helping you see your surroundings more clearly.
It destroys Oozing Concretions, the slimy purple blobs that live in The Chasm’s filth.
It activates mechanisms to unlock challenges, find new areas, get treasure chests, etc.
It’s used to defeat the Ruin Serpent Boss by unleashing Blooming Light.

Note that the Lumenstone Adjuvant only works when you’re inside The Chasm with enough Energy. You can check the Energy level above your HP bar. To get an Energy refill, use Lumenlamps, light totems, blue light bulbs, Light Seelies, or Lucklight Flies (see picture). You can also use a Teleport Waypoint.

How to Upgrade the Lumenstone Adjuvant

After obtaining the Lumenstone, it’s not possible to upgrade it immediately. You need to do the first part of The Chasm Delvers World Quest until you can enter The Chasm (the Underground Mines) and meet up with the NPC called Jinwe. Once you’ve found the campsite during Chasm Spelunkers, you can return to Jinwe to open the Lumenstone Adjuvant enhancement menu at any given time.

To upgrade the Lumenstone, you need two things:

Lumenspar: The shiny blue ore that’s scattered around The Chasm (underground area only). A Lumenspar Adjuvant upgrade costs eight Lumenspar. With a total of ten upgrades, a total of 80 Lumenspar is needed to reach the maximum level.
Lumenstone Ore: One Lumenstone is required to get the second, sixth, and eighth upgrade, so you only need three Lumenstone Ore in total.

How to Get Lumenstone Ore

So, how do you get those three pieces of ore? The short answer: keep playing through The Chasm Delvers World Quest. More specifically, you get Lumenstone Ore at the following moments:

Automatically rewarded for completing The Chasm: Spelunkers sub quest.
Found lying on the ground next to the giant hole that appears after completing The Chasm Delvers: The Heavenly Stone’s Debris.
Found lying in the tiny blue tent after unlocking the gate in The Chasm Delvers: Wherefore Did The Spiritstone Descend?

No worries if you did the quests but forgot to pick up the Lumenstone Ore; it will still be there.

How to Get Lumenspar

Collecting Lumenspar is a lot more work, but you’ll come across the first few pieces in no time. Keep an eye on your mini map while exploring: if you’re close to a Lumenspar, a tiny marker will pop up on the map. It’s also a good idea to use the Genshin Impact interactive map.

A few more tips for your Lumenspar hunt:

The first Lumenspars are easily found by following the main path through The Chasm. Be sure to pick them up, because you need at least 16 of them to unlock the Blooming Light effect (which, in turn, is needed to further unlock The Chasm).
Have a look at the ten Lumenstone upgrade levels below before you decide to collect all 80 Lumenspars. Although it’s certainly an option, you don’t really need the highest level to fully explore the new region.
After reaching level eight, your Lumenstone can be used to locate Lumenspar, making everything a lot easier.

Every Lumenstone Adjuvant Level, Abilities, and Rewards

Every Lumenstone Adjuvant upgrade is rewarded with Adventurer Experience, Mora, and ten pieces of Mystic Enhancement Ore. On top of that, you get one unique reward and new Lumenstone abilities. Here’s an overview:

Level 1: The Lumenstone can store three levels of Energy. Reward: One Fragile Resin.
Level 2: The Lumenstone can trigger Blooming Light to destroy Level 1 Oozing Concretions (the purple slime). This effect can trigger once every four seconds. Reward: Two Acquaint Fates.
Level 3: The maximum amount of Energy stored increases to four. Brightness and range are increased as well. Reward: Two Philosophies of Prosperity.
Level 4: The max amount of Energy increases to six. Reward: Crown of Insight.
Level 5: Max amount of Energy increases to seven, and the cooldown of Blooming Light is decreased by two seconds. Reward: Two Philosophies of Diligence.
Level 6: The Lumenstone can destroy Level 2 Oozing Concretions using Blooming Light. Reward: Two Acquaint Fate.
Level 7: The maximum amount of Energy stored is increased to nine. Reward: Two Philosophies of Gold.
Level 8: The max amount of energy is increased to ten. Furthermore, Blooming Light’s AOE is increased and can be used to search for nearby Lumenspar. Reward: Two Intertwined Fate.
Level 9: From now on, characters can use Sprint and Alternate Sprint while standing in Oozing Filth. After using Blooming Light, characters regain Stamina. Reward: Northlander Billet Trove (weapon blueprint).
Level 10: The Lumenstone has reached its highest level. Reward: Lumens, Stone of Light Namecard.

The fourth Lumenstone level is probably the most important. It rewards a Crown of Insight, which is a very rare item that can’t easily be obtained through other means. The level ten reward on the other hand, the namecard, is just a background for your profile. Unlike the other rewards, it doesn’t have a practical use in the game.

Do you have your Lumenstone Adjuvant maxed out yet? Good luck on your hunt for Lumenspar!
