How to Level Up the Season Pass & Unlock Tiers

Fall Guys has officially gone free-to-play! Along with releasing on Xbox and Nintendo Switch, developer Mediatonic is adding several new game modes and making big changes to the game’s overall structure. While you will still be tumbling, rolling, and falling a lot, Fall Guys has a new reward structure to accommodate its free-to-play release. Unsurprisingly, Mediatonic is continuing its season pass model, popularized by other multiplayer games such as Fortnite.

With 100 tiers of rewards, players can earn a lot of cool skins and cosmetics by leveling up their season pass. However, if you’re new to Fall Guys earning season pass tiers can be a bit confusing since there multiple different types of challenges available. While some will progress your season pass others simply offer different rewards. Here’s how to level up your season pass and what the different challenges are:

Fall Guys Season Pass Challenges

How to Level Up Your Season Pass

To level up your season pass you will need to earn experience which is given out by either completing challenges or just playing in games of Fall Guys. The former is the most common, as most challenges will reward a lot of experience. However, not all challenges are created equal as some will reward you with Crown Pieces or Kudos instead. You can tell what challenge will give you season pass experience because there will be a pink hexagon with a star in it to the right of the challenge’s description (shown above).

There are three types of challenges: Daily, Weekly, and Marathon. The former will rotate every day and typically consist of easy challenges like just qualifying for rounds. Daily Challenges award a small amount of experience, but you should make an effort to complete them. Weekly Challenges will unlock every Wednesday, but reward over a 1000 experience per challenge. Because of this, they are a bit more difficult or require a bigger time investment since there’s no way you’ll run 30,000 meters in a single game.

Finally, there are Marathon Challenges which last the entire duration of the season. These do not reward any experience, instead offering Crown Pieces. Marathon Challenges are pretty tricky as one asks you to win five games while another tasks you will grabbing 1,000 different players in Team Rounds.

Your other method for leveling up the season pass is simply by playing the game. At the end of each match, regardless if you won or not, you will earn experience based on how you perform. This appears to be tied to whether you earn a bronze, silver, or gold medal. These medals are given out for either being the first person to win a race, simply surviving a specific mini-game, or scoring the most points in a mode like Fall Ball. Unlike challenges, you won’t earn a lot of experience even if you do well. Because of this, you should use the after-match experience as a way to supplement your challenges instead of simply ignoring them.

I strongly recommend you focus on completing your Weekly Challenges since this rewards the most experience and can make it really easy to climb through the tiers. Alternatively, you can buy tiers by spending the real money currency Show-Bucks. I do not recommend this unless you either have a lot of money to spend or simply do not want to do any of the challenges.
