Melissa Gorga Responds To Criticisms Of Her RHONJ Season 12 Storyline

Melissa Gorga is clapping back against criticism that she doesn’t have a storyline this on season 12 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Melissa Gorga is clapping back at her haters who claim she doesn’t have a storyline this season on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Fans have called out the Envy boutique owner for producing fake drama on the show and relying on her sister-in-law and OJ RHONJ star Teresa Giudice and her househusband Joe Gorga to remain relevant. This season, Melissa and Joe have yet to peel back another layer of their lives, but instead have focused their attentions on feuding with New Jersey housewife Jennifer Aydin and her husband Bill Aydin.

Melissa made her Housewives debut 10 seasons ago immediately at odds with her sister-in-law and original cast member Teresa. Since then, the mom of 3 has gone through a music career, countless family feuds, becoming a business owner, marital troubles, and more. But from the beginning of her time on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, fans have questioned the sincerity of the storylines Melissa has put on display for the viewers. The New Jersey native has been accused of being fame-hungry and producing scenes to keep her Housewives checks and Bravolebrity status. Fans were surprised to see Melissa was cast for Ultimate Girls Trip, the first all-star version of Real Housewives, over other Bravo stars who bring it season after season.

But with no end to her tenure in sight, Melissa is responding to criticism that she has no storyline on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. The reality tv star blames the fans for the pressure all housewives feel to have a storyline every season. Melissa told Entertainment Tonight, “The fans think unless your husband’s cheating on you, or you’re Erika Jayne, or you’re going to jail or you robbed a bank, then you shouldn’t be on the Housewives. So they just want all villains, they don’t want any normal people to have a normal life and show their family. It’s Housewives, it’s not, like, Mob Wives!” Melissa pointed out that she has no control over what producers will and won’t put in the show. Countless hours of the housewives’ lives are filmed, and many personal stories are left on the cutting room floor including the recent expansion of Melissa’s “small business.”

This season on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Melissa and her posse of Margaret Josephs and Jackie Goldschneider have again set their sights against Jennifer. The “On Display” singer is harping on Jennifer’s comments after last season’s reunion that she and her husband Joe are crooks. Tensions boiled over between the two as Jennifer and Melissa came just shy of a physical altercation this season. Melissa has claimed Jennifer is inauthentic while filming and plays up the dramatics for the camera.

But Melissa shouldn’t be too quick to point the finger when she has been called out for not being genuine on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. RHONJ was once known as one of the most authentic housewives franchises credited to its dynamic personalities and deep-rooted family times. Now with long-time cast members like Melissa bringing nothing fresh to the show for the past couple of seasons, it seems like New Jersey is only a shell of what it used to be for some viewers.
