Look at what you have done. The internet, through its memes, has brought the Living Vampire back to life. Sony Pictures is bringing Morbius back to cinemas in North America this weekend.
Because you wanted it.
Because you demanded it.
Because only you can move the needle to $73.4M domestic.

The movie will be coming back to over 1,000 theaters this weekend, according to Exhibitor Relations. That’s a significant expansion for a movie in its tenth week at the box office. Even more so considering Morbius is on digital right now.
It’s all because Sony Pictures feels like it might have something on its hands. Despite a pretty weak run at the box office — Morbius only made $73.3 million in North America — the memes surrounding the film have taken over the internet. People have been memeing and streaming, with the film appearing on Twitch in community marathons.
At the very least, Sony is hoping that Morbius can break $75 million domestically. At the far end, maybe there’s enough internet love to take the film higher? The box office is currently being run by Top Gun: Maverick, which made $160 million in its opening Memorial Day weekend, and Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, which crossed $370 million in its fourth weekend. The latter film also had its streaming release announced today, with the film coming to Disney on June 22.
Perhaps between all that competition, Morbius can claw its way to success. It’s unlikely, but stranger things have happened, like Morbius returning to theaters. I guess it’s truly Morbin’ time.
