RoboCop Arrives to Fortnite, Escaping Earth's Police Defunding Efforts

The Fortnite RoboCop collaboration is real, as announced by Epic Games today. The robot officer is getting its own outfit treatment in the battle royale, and it’s becoming available to purchase in the in-game shop later today. Alongside the skin, you can ride a mini ED-209 with its emote, as well as carry a couple more cosmetics with you based on the movies.

RoboCop arrives in the store today, May 13 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. Sadly, this isn’t the case where you can unlock the skin or any related cosmetic items with challenges, and it’s instead akin to previous collaborations — from Assassin’s Creed to the music-reactive Coachella outfits. For this particular arrival, the RoboCop outfit includes the LEG-209 back bling, which is literally a leg from the LEG-209 robot first seen in the original movie. The leg is also available as a pickaxe, and if you purchase the bundle, you can switch between both “modes” as both the back bling and pickaxe versions are included.

In addition, there is also an emote (because of course it is) that involves a small ED-209 to ride. It’s not a vehicle, mind you, and instead just an emote, but it makes for a funny gag all the same.

The Fortnite RoboCop collaboration is a surprising one (can’t wait to hang out with RoboCop, Harley Quinn, and Jinx at the same time) but it’s far from the first. RoboCop arrived to Mortal Kombat 11 back in 2020 as a fully playable character, which made for a great choice to pit against Terminator. Fortnite has received both Sarah Connor and the T-800 from Terminator not long ago, so hey, you can now pit both franchises in a different digital universe.
