Seth Rogen Jokes He's Alarmed & Upset By Paul Rudd Not Visibly Aging

Seth Rogen jokingly admits in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that the fact that Paul Rudd is not visibly aging has him very alarmed and upset.

In a recent interview, Seth Rogen joked that Paul Rudd’s youthful appearance has him incredibly upset. The duo have appeared in numerous films together since 2004 and are well-known Hollywood buddies. Rogen is currently starring as Rand Gauthier in Pam & Tommy, which is streaming on Hulu.

Rudd has been acting in Hollywood since the 1990s. Breaking out in films like Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers and Clueless, he soon went on to a prolific comedy career with his recurring role on Friends and his frequent appearances in Judd Apatow-produced comedies. Over the years, his age has become a common meme, with many noting that the actor (despite now being in his 50s) has barely aged a day since he started acting. His agelessness doesn’t seem to be going anywhere either, as the actor was recently named People’s Sexiest Man Alive at the age of 52.

The memes about Rudd’s age are not limited to the internet – even his friend Rogen has gotten in on the action. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live (via EW) to discuss Pam & Tommy and his recent partnership with Rudd on a Super Bowl LVI ad, Rogen opened up about the spot and jokingly noted that he was upset at how he now looks older than the ageless Rudd, even though he’s actually younger than Rudd. Rogen said:

It was a little alarming in some ways, honestly, because when I started working with Paul Rudd, he was older than I was…And now, I somehow passed him!

You would assume I was his uncle between the two of us. You would assume I was watching him…I showed up on set and I was like, ‘Damn, what happened? How did I pass you? Did they freeze you?’ It was really upsetting in a lot of ways.

Elsewhere in his remarks about his longtime friendship with Rudd, Rogen noted that the two had met while both working on Adam McKay’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. In the film, Rudd plays news reporter Brian Fantana, while Rogen has a small role as a cameraman working with Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate). The two met on the set of that film, which has led to a nearly two-decade friendship and working partnership. Now, Rogen seems to think that he looks like he could be Rudd’s uncle, despite Rudd being over a decade older than him.

Of course, while Rogen’s remarks about Rudd’s ageless face are true, they also clearly come from a lighthearted place. Rudd’s seeming ability to never age has become such an endemic internet meme that even the actor himself has gotten in on the fun, joking that the secret to his youthful appearance is inner darkness that he harbors deep inside himself, along with moisturizer. Rudd will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe next year when Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania premieres on July 28, 2023. Currently, Rogen can be seen in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, which drops new episodes every Wednesday.
