Silksong is Real, Drops Within the Next Year

Hollow Knight: Silksong just got a new slash-filled trailer, and is now confirmed to be launching within the next year.

At Xbox and Bethesda’s 2022 Games Showcase, we finally got a new look at Hollow Knight: Silksong, the sequel to beloved bug game Hollow Knight. In the trailer, Hornet, the new protagonist, is seen gracefully platforming through dangerous caverns, chopping up undead insects, and standing her ground in some colossal boss fights. The end of the slick montage announces that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be arriving day one on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox consoles, PC, and cloud streaming.

Hollow Knight: Silksong was first announced on February 14, 2019, but no release date has ever been mentioned. During the games showcase, the official Xbox Twitter account tweeted that “Everything you’re seeing today is playable over the next 12 months,” which caused on fan to ask if that is the case for Silksong, and the Xbox account replied with a sly “That’s exactly what we said.” So, fans can rest easy knowing that they will get to uncover the many secrets of Silksong‘s world within the next year.

That’s exactly what we said.

Team Cherry originally started developing Hollow Knight: Silksong as DLC for Hollow Knight, but their scope became massive, and they decided to make Silksong its own, full game. Last year, when Hollow Knight: Silksong hype was bubbling over, developer Team Cherry had to temper expectations and announce that they wouldn’t be announcing any news on the game at E3. Luckily, in the year of our gaming lord 2022, we now know the game is coming out relatively soon.
