Thor: Love & Thunder Soundtrack Guide

Taika Waititi’s Phase 4 MCU movie Thor: Love & Thunder features a ton of memorable songs on its soundtrack—including a whole lot of Guns N’ Roses.

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Thor: Love and Thunder!

The Thor: Love and Thunder soundtrack includes several recognizable songs, ranging from iconic rock anthems to more contemporary pop. Director Taika Waititi helped push the Thor franchise in a new direction once he took over with Thor: Ragnarok. He gave the Marvel Cinematic Universe series a comedic tone, brighter colors, and a great soundtrack. This includes the standout Led Zepplin classic “Immigrant Song”, used for the final battle between Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Cate Blanchett’s Hela.

Thor: Love and Thunder marks the return of Thor for the first time since he left Earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Endgame. The MCU Phase 4 movie follows his journey of discovering who he really is in this vast universe, which becomes a bit more complicated when his ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), gains his powers through a rebuilt Mjolnir. The God of Thunder might be jealous at first, but he comes to realize she is what he’s been missing in his life. Jane’s superhero turn also comes at the perfect time since Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) begins rampaging across the galaxy killing every god in his path.

“Paradise City” by Guns N’ Roses – The second Guns N’ Roses song on Thor: Love and Thunder’s soundtrack is heard while the film introduces New Asgard’s new tourist look.

“Old Spice Sea Chanty” by Ginger Johnson – The Old Spice jingle can be heard at the very end of Valkyrie’s Old Spice ad.

“Fighting” by Michael Raphael – The next Thor: Love and Thunder song plays as Thor Odinson, King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and Mighty Thor defend New Asgard from Gorr’s attack.

“Our Last Summer” by ABBA – The 1980 ABBA song is heard during the movie’s montage of what happened before Jane and Thor broke up.

“Family Affair” by Mary J. Blige – The Thor: Love and Thunder music includes a dose of Mary J. Blige, as Valkyrie plays “Family Affair” to demonstrate her portable speaker to Jane.

“Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses – The third Guns N’ Roses song plays multiple times in the movie, but the first is when Thor, Jane, and Valkyrie fight Zeus (Russell Crowe) in Omnipotent City.

“Hey Ninny-Nonny” by Taika Waititi – An original song from Taika Waititi, Korg sings this song when Thor and Jane are talking on the ship about their feelings.
