Where Does Matt & Zach Roloff's Relationship Stand Today

On Little People, Big World season 23, Matt Roloff and his son Zach Roloff don’t see eye to eye. Learn about their relationship right now.

Little People, Big World season 23 has kicked off with Matt Roloff and his son Zach Roloff negotiating over the family farm, and since their discussion quickly became tense, fans are wondering whether they are getting along today. Roloff Farms, which includes a massive pumpkin patch in Oregon, has been owned and operated by the Roloffs for over 30 years. The property was originally bought by Matt and his ex-wife Amy Roloff, who are parents to Zach, Jeremy, Molly, and Jacob Roloff. Matt and Amy divorced in 2016, after 27 years of marriage. The public was aware of their impending divorce as early as 2014, and Matt and Amy’s split changed Roloff Farms’ legacy.

Although all four Roloff children were featured on the early Little People, Big World seasons, Zach is the only sibling who still regularly appears. While Molly and Jacob are content to leave farm life behind, twins Zach and Jeremy have been interested in owning the property for years. After Matt bought Amy’s portion of Roloff Farms from her, Zach became more insistent that Matt sell land to him and his wife, Tori Roloff. Despite heavy negotiations with Matt and his girlfriend Caryn Chandler, Zach and Tori never made a deal. Early episodes of season 23 have shown Matt and Zach at odds since then, with tensions especially high after Matt listed acres for sale online at $4 million. The patriarch claims that he did that because Zach and Jeremy weren’t interested in buying.

As Matt and Zach’s relationship soured on Little People, Big World, TLC viewers want to know how well the father and son are currently getting along. Luckily, Zach recently explained to E! News that he and Matt are rebuilding their relationship, and have no hard feelings about their argument over Roloff Farms. While it was a tense and stressful negotiation for the senior and junior Roloff, Zach ultimately said that they are family, and willing to work things out behind the scenes. While Zach recently slammed Matt online for being “manipulative,” the 32-year-old admitted that he regretted his social media rants, although he made his thoughts “pretty clear.”

While Zach’s Instagram is rarely updated (with his last post introducing his and Tori’s third child, Josiah Roloff) Tori and Matt’s recent social media activity indicates that the Roloffs are indeed making an effort to improve their relationship. Tori and Zach celebrated their son Jackson Roloff’s 5th birthday on May 22, and Matt confirmed that he was at the party with his comment, “My favorite part of the day when you put together his paper airplane and Jackson said “thanks mom”. Such a very sweet and polite young man.” A week before Jackson’s birthday celebration, Matt revealed on Instagram that he met Zach and Tori’s newborn, which was the first indication to Little People, Big World fans that their feud may be over.

Matt and Zach may be getting along now, but there’s no doubt that their relationship still has a long way to go on Little People, Big World season 23. Although the TLC series has been around for over a decade, there are several family members that fans have their eye on, including Amy and Caryn Chandler. Although the Roloff Farm debacle will continue to play out on the show, it’ll be interesting to see if someone actually accepts Matt’s $4 million offer. If that happens, what would it mean for Zach and the rest of the family?
