Where To Find (& Catch) Cherrim In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Where To Find (& Catch) Cherrim In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Cherrim is one of the rarest Pokémon that players will need to find and capture in Pokémon Legends: Arceus in order to complete their Pokédex.

Cherrim is one of the most challenging Pokémon to find and catch in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which has also led it to become one of the most difficult Pokémon to complete Pokédex for. Cherrim is a pure Grass-type Pokémon that was introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, but it has never had a significant impact upon the game when it comes to battling. However, since Pokémon Legends: Arceus priorities catching and researching Pokémon over anything else, Cherrim has essentially become a near-elusive Pokémon that players will need to exercise patience with as they find and catch them.

A recent update in Pokémon Legends: Arceus made Cherrim easier to find and catch in certain locations, as players had previously complained that its spawn rate was bugged. Although Cherrim can also be obtained by finding and catching a Cherubi and evolving it, one of the research tasks for Cherrim requires players to see it jump out of trees 15 times. Cherrim, unfortunately, can’t be seen jumping out of just any tree, so players will need to search diligently for it.

Cherrim has three different areas that they’ll spawn in across the Hisui region, namely the Obsidian Fieldlands, Coronet Highlands, and Crimson Mirelands. Its rarest spawns occur in the Obsidian Fieldlands and Crimson Mirelands, so it’s unlikely that players will be able to find Cherrim in any place other than alongside the Pokémon of the Coronet Highlands in Legends: Arceus. Nonetheless, players who are looking to get a Cherrim as soon as possible should search for the Pokémon in The Heartwood area of Obsidian Fieldlands or the Gapejaw Bog of Crimson Mirelands.

The only way that Cherrim can be found in trees in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is if players send one of their Pokémon at a shaking tree with blue leaves in the aforementioned areas. In the Coronet Highlands, the blue trees that Cherrim can be found in are part of the Lonely Spring, Fabled Spring, and Primeval Grotto. Additionally, these trees have a significantly higher chance of Cherrim popping out over Cherubi, so it’s best that players still to the Coronet Highlands to complete their Cherrim research data.

After checking all of the appropriate trees, return to Jubilife Village in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and then back to the Coronet Highlands in order to reset the spawns. Players can also turn off their automatic save and manually save Pokémon Legends: Arceus to bypass having to return to Jubilife Village if they didn’t any Cherrim among the trees, as the encounters aren’t fixed before a Pokémon drops from a shaking tree.

The easiest way to get a Cherrim in Pokémon Legends Arceus is by evolving Cherubi. The evolution process requires players to raise Cherubi’s level to 25. Alternatively, catching a Cherrim from the Wild requires players to be careful when battling the Pokémon. First, Legends: Arceus players should download the latest update as it fixes a bug that prevented players from catching Cherrim. Once the game has been updated, trainers should head out to find Cherrim in the aforementioned locations.

Since Cherrim is weak to Fire-, Ice-, Flying-, Poison- and Bug-type attacks, the safest way to capture a Cherrim is by using a Pokémon that has learned the move “False Swipe.” This will enable players to bring Cherrim’s health down to 1HP, making it far easier to catch the Pokémon with an Ultra Ball.
