There is a perfect character for Jeffrey Dean Morgan to play in The Boys season 4 now, as his mystery role should be Tek Knight. After showrunner Erik Kripke convinced his former Supernatural star Jensen Ackles to play Soldier Boy in The Boys season 3, speculation continued to wonder who else from the Winchester family could join Prime Video’s superhero satire. It has now been officially confirmed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is joining The Boys season 4. The show is keeping Morgan’s role under wraps for now, but Garth Ennis’ comics have the perfect character for him to play.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan finally getting his wish of being part of The Boys comes at a fascinating point for the show. Many of the comics’ biggest characters have already been introduced through the first three seasons, leaving the creative team to bring in even lesser-known Supes or create new ones. There is no guarantee that The Boys will give Jeffrey Dean Morgan a character from the comics, but it does seem likely. Other notable actors who joined the series played comic characters in some form, including Shawn Ashmore as Lamplighter and Aya Cash as Stormfront. Thankfully, there is still a perfect character for Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the table.

The Boys season 4’s best Jeffrey Dean Morgan character is Tek Knight. A recurring character in Garth Ennis’ comics, Tek Knight is The Boys’ riff on DC’s Batman (and a bit of Marvel’s Iron Man). He is a billionaire who wears an advanced suit to fight crime, but he also lives in a mansion and has a boy wonder, a hi-tech car, and more. Tek Knight is a twisted character in the comics, as he has a psychological problem that gives him an overwhelming urge to have sex, whether that be with living beings or inanimate objects. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has already proven he can play despicable characters with Negan in The Walking Dead and The Comedian in Watchmen. But since he was also close to playing Thomas Wayne’s Batman in a Flashpoint movie, there would be a meta aspect of Morgan playing a Batman parody in The Boys season 4.

Will Jeffrey Dean Morgan Play Tek Knight In The Boys Season 4?

Tek Knight in The Boys

There is nothing but speculation pointing to Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing Tek Knight in The Boys season 4, but that does not mean it will not happen. The show has already made multiple references to Tek Knight in the past, so he is already confirmed to exist in this universe. Jeffrey Dean Morgan could now help bring Tek Knight into the story as a grizzled Supe who continues to struggle with his sex addiction. Tek Knight is the rare Supe in the comics who Billy Butcher does not hate, so adding him to the mix after the Boys have started working with more Supes and getting experimental powers themselves could be a fun wrinkle.

The Boys season 4 might even now have the ability to include a character like Tek Knight who was previously considered to be too problematic for a live-action depiction. Prime Video has given the show the freedom to really push the boundaries of what audiences will watch. Season 3 opened with Termite entering a penis – creating an unbelievable moment of TV – and later adapted the comics’ Supe orgy, Herogasm. Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Tek Knight could push The Boys season 4 into even more absurd directions. He did have sex with a meteor in the comics after all.
